March is turning into a busy month for the Club. As well as the District 9650 conference in Coonabarabran and the PETS seminar for our incoming President to attend, at the club level we have many activities afoot.
- Our March auction is another big one. On Saturday 5 March the auction of an overflowing shed full of household items will help support the Woolgoolga Rural Fire Service as well as funding a donation to flood relief via a Rotary club in an affected area. Come along from 10 to view goods or buy smaller items at the Rotary shed behind the CWA, next to the RSL club in Beach St. The auction of major items starts at 1pm. CWA have a sausage sizzle under way from 10am onwards.
- Then March 12-19 is BowelScan week and club members will be rostered on to sell bowelscan kits to the over 40s in our local community. Early detection of bowel cancer saves lives so the Club supports this activity every year. Buy your kits and take the home test. The $8 kits are available at the Rotary desk in Woolgoolga plaza from Saturday 12th 9-5 each day. After doing the test, fill in the form and drop the kits back to the Amcal Pharmacy in the plaza. Results will be mailed to you and for positive tests both you and your doctor will be notified.
- March 19-20 is the Bluewater Freediving/Rotary Fish auction. The fish caught at the Bluewater Freediving Classic on that weekend will be auctioned by Rotary from about 2.30pm at the Beach Reserve on each of Saturday and Sunday. Delicious fish for your freezer or to eat fresh with friends. Organise a party for Saturday or Sunday evening now!!
- And finally on the last Monday of March - 28 March - our Rotary meeting is a membership information night. For those members interested in joining the Woolgoolga Rotary Club, phone 6654 7700 and come along 6pm - 8pm to the Bowling Club in Woolgoolga to join us for a meal and find out about joining the club.
