Woolgoolga Headlands

New Members Welcome

13/09/2010 -
Club members August 2010

Woolgoolga Rotary Club welcomes new members (men and women) who live or work in the area from Red Rock/Corindi in the north to Emerald Beach in the south.   The Club meets every Monday evening at the Woolgoolga Bowling Club from 6-8pm for dinner, fellowship and a meeting which usually includes an interesting guest speaker. The Club aims to assist our local Woolgoolga Community and to contribute to Rotary International projects worldwide to help those less fortunate than we are here in Australia.  You will be required to attend at least 50% of our weekly meetings or make up by participating in fund-raising activities or other Rotary events and projects throughout the year, but leave of absence can be applied for if you are going to be away for an extended period.

Membership fees are currently set at $200 per year (payable in two installments of $100 if you wish) and this covers, among other things, a subscription to a monthly Rotary magazine.  There is also an initial $50 joining fee which covers provision of a Rotary shirt and your membership badge as well as a name badge for your partner.  Members also pay $20 each time they attend a meeting, which covers the cost of their dinner and a small contribution to operating costs.  The Club welcomes members' partners and friends to meetings at any time if they are interested in a particular guest speaker and there is a once a month special partners night as well.   If you bring your spouse, a family member or guest along then the cost of dinner is $15 for each guest unless they are deemed a guest of the Club (for example, our guest speaker is always a guest of the Club) in which case the Club will cover their costs.  There is also a fining session at each meeting, which usually involves donation of a gold coin or two to the Club coffers.

A new member has to be sponsored by an existing member, introduced to the Club and have their application for membership approved by the Club.  This is not onerous.  If you are interested, simply contact our Membership Director who will answer your questions, invite you along to a dinner meeting as our guest so you can introduce yourself and meet other Club members.  We will provide you with information on Rotary and our Club so you can have a think about it.  Contact Pamela Fayle, ph 6654 7700; email pamela@bioaccent.com.au
