13-15 May 2011 at Woolgoolga High School, 80 students from all over northern NSW participated in the Rotary Distict MUNA event. The students used their acting skills, humour, entertainment and serious argument to win over the assembly in arguing their points of view on a range of global issues from climate change to nuclear energy, human rights and economic development.Woolgoolga High School Hall was decked out with the flags of over 100 countries for the big event and student delegates came dressed in national dress and ready for an argument or two. The hall was abuzz with couriers transferring diplomatic notes (and bribes for votes) and the “military police” had to step in on the odd occasion and make some arrests! Best individaul delegate vote was won by Abigail McMahon, the Irish delegate from Melville High in Kempsey tied with Jessica Duncan, the Zimbabwean delegate from Calrossy School in Tamworth.  Best national costume was won by the Japan team from St Columba school in Port Macquarie and best country team was won by local Woolgoolga girls Claudia Bennett and Sarah Jane Davies who represented Iran (see below).
